Seniors and caregivers can access a wealth of information about local resources and programs at the Senior Information Fair hosted by Westport Senior Living on Oct. 6.
At this free, one-day event, visitors can expect to connect with providers of home support services, health and wellness products, legal advice, hearing care, retirement living, and tools for aging in place.
“This type of event gathers many resources in one place, making it easy for older adults to get the information, inspiration, and tools they need to remain in their homes and communities as they age,” says Joan Barrett, board member with Westport Senior Living.
The fair runs from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Westport Legion.
More than 20 businesses, organizations and experts specialized in serving the needs of seniors will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions and share their knowledge. In addition, there will be two screenings of No More Silent Battles, a film about the crisis in dementia care and how families can address needed resources. Attendees can also watch demonstrations of chair yoga and Pilates. A light lunch will be served.
