The Lanark Leeds and Grenville Spay and Neuter Clinic is continuing to make a major impact on pet health across Eastern Ontario and beyond.

Administrative Manager Barb Bacon said the privately owned clinic on Highway 29 performs about 11,000 surgeries each year for cats and dogs from communities stretching from the Quebec border to Toronto and northern New York State.

The clinic operates two surgery suites, including separate areas for cats and dogs, along with 72 cat kennels and 35 dog runs.

Bacon said one of the clinic’s most unique features is its drive-through pet admission and pickup system, created during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The system allows staff to safely collect pets directly from vehicles, reducing stress for animals and improving safety for owners and staff.

She said spaying and neutering remains one of the most important steps pet owners can take to improve long-term animal health by reducing disease, roaming and unwanted litters.

Bacon also thanked local veterinarians, rescues, the SPCA and the community for their continued support.
