Elizabethtown-Kitley Trades Bursary Boosts Local Talent

Offers $1,500 to Future Skilled Workers

The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is offering a $1,500 Trades Bursary to support local residents pursuing post-secondary education or apprenticeship programs in the trades field. The bursary will be awarded to one student or split between two students ($750 each).

To be eligible, applicants must reside within the township and provide proof of residency. They must be enrolled or accepted into a full-time, post-secondary program at a recognized Ontario institution or apprenticeship program in trades. A list of eligible trades is available on the Skilled Trades Ontario website.

Applicants will be evaluated on work and volunteer experience (30%), essay response (40%), reference response (15%), application completeness (10%), and other factors such as awards and financial need (5%). The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on April 25, 2025.

The recipient(s) will be selected by the Economic Development Committee, with all decisions final. For more information, contact the Clerk’s Department.
