Retired public servant enters Brockville council race over tax concerns

Roberts also wonders if returning to a ward system would improve accountability between residents and councillors

Local resident and retired federal public servant, Ian Roberts has announced his intention to run for Brockville City Council in October's municipal election.

Roberts says rising property taxes prompted his decision to run.

His priorities include tighter budget oversight and restoring annual audits.

Roberts also wonders if returning to a ward system would improve accountability between residents and councillors.

The municipal election is scheduled for Oct. 26.
