Residents are reminded that streets not cleared over the weekend will be addressed when weather permits
The City of Brockville will begin snow removal operations in response to recent snowfall starting Jan. 16, 2026, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., continuing over the weekend. Crews will follow a priority sequence outlined in the City’s Winter Maintenance Policy, focusing first on denser downtown streets.
Snow removal is a proactive step by the Public Works Department. City streets are designed to store some snow in roadside banks, which are cleared once the standard level of service is met. Specialized heavy machinery is used for the work, typically at night during reduced traffic and parking bans.
Residents are reminded that streets not cleared over the weekend will be addressed when weather permits.
Maps of priority streets and updates on snow removal, Significant Weather Events, and winter maintenance are available on the City’s website.
