In support of Rotary's Harvest Sharing Food Drive
Today 104.9 myFM and 103.7 Giant FM are hosting their annual Food Bank Fill Up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Real Canadian Superstore.
The event supports the Brockville and Area Food Bank and the Rotary Harvest Sharing Food Drive.
Food Bank Manager Amanda Petch says organizers hope donations will last until next summer.
With food prices continuing to rise, families from Brockville and across Canada are facing tight budgets.
Petch shared a heartbreaking story, noting that anyone can suddenly find themselves in a difficult position.
Volunteers are seeking non-perishable donations, including canned meat, dried pasta, cereal, and soup.
Petch also encouraged monetary donations, detailing how the contributions will support families in need.
Food insecurity is a growing concern locally.
Brockville declared an emergency in July, and South Grenville’s food bank followed last week.
The Brockville and Area Food Bank expects to surpass 22,000 visits this year, making community support critical.
