Brockville community rallies for young cancer patient with bake sale love

Several local bakeries donated treats, including Catered Affairs, Boboli Cafe, Grahame’s Bakery, Pastry Kings Princess, Tait’s Fresh Start and Willard’s Bakery Products and Village Bakery-Deli

The Brockville community came together to raise $4,200 for nine-year-old Charley and her family through a fundraiser at the Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands Brockville ReStore.

The bake sale was held Saturday and drew support from staff, volunteers, donors, bakers and local businesses. Charley recently came through a 17-hour surgery and is now recovering, with further treatment ahead.

Organizers said the event went beyond fundraising, showing strong community support for the family during a difficult time. The fundraiser followed earlier efforts last fall when Brockville residents first rallied around Charley after her cancer diagnosis.

Several local bakeries donated treats, including Catered Affairs, Boboli Cafe, Grahame’s Bakery, Pastry Kings Princess, Tait’s Fresh Start and Willard’s Bakery Products and Village Bakery-Deli.

Organizers said Charley’s family felt strong community support.
