Brockville food bank works overtime to keep shelves stocked

The community is encouraged to continue supporting the food bank through donations and volunteer work as demand remains high heading into the warmer months

The Brockville and Area Food Bank continues to face heavy demand as residents seek essential food and supplies.

Amanda Petch, manager of the Brockville and Area Food Bank, explained how the shift in hours assists with operations.

Petch said December was a highly beneficial month, noting the Food Bank received over $200,000 to help with operations.

She added that funding like that greatly helps the Food Bank maintain its services.

Petch also highlighted items the Food Bank currently needs.

She said staff and volunteers remain committed to keeping shelves stocked and ensuring residents in the Brockville area have access to essential food and supplies.

Petch encouraged the community to continue supporting the food bank through donations and volunteer work as demand remains high heading into the warmer months.
