Don Buffett, a longtime Brockville city councillor and community voice, has died suddenly at Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 27. He was 92.
Buffett served on Brockville city council for several years, where he was known for steady views, practical advice and strong support for local issues. He remained engaged in civic life long after leaving office, often sharing insights with local leaders and residents.
He was the husband of the late Shirley Halfpenny Buffett and the father of John and Geoffrey Buffett, both of Brockville. He was also a grandfather and great-grandfather to a large extended family.
Visitation will be held at the Barclay Funeral Home on Pearl Street on Feb. 3, with a second visitation on Feb. 4. A funeral service will follow Wednesday afternoon, with interment at Oakland Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada. Condolences may be shared online.
