Minor hockey takes centre stage in Brockville this weekend as the Brockville Angels host the annual February Freeze Hockey Tournament.
The event runs from Friday to Sunday (Jan. 30 to Feb. 1) and is expected to draw large crowds to local arenas. Organizers say 67 teams and about 1,100 athletes will compete over three days of play.
The tournament features divisions from U9 to U18, with teams travelling from communities across Ontario and Quebec. Games will run throughout the day, creating a busy schedule for players, families and fans.
Local organizers say the February Freeze has become a key winter event for the city, bringing energy to the rinks and a boost to area businesses.
Residents are encouraged to come out, watch the games and support young athletes as they take part in one of the region’s largest youth hockey tournaments of the season.
