Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use alternate routes and use caution near the work zone
Buell Street in Brockville is closed again as crews work to restore the road following a major watermain break earlier this week.
The street is closed between Brock Street and Pearl Street while road restoration is completed, the city said. Residents are being asked to avoid the area during the morning and afternoon commute.
The closure follows a watermain break reported Wednesday that forced an emergency shutdown of the same section of road. City officials warned at the time that nearby residents could face intermittent water service or temporary outages while repairs were underway.
Crews repaired the damaged watermain and remained on site to restore the road surface. The city has not confirmed when Buell Street will reopen.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use alternate routes and use caution near the work zone. Updates on road closures and traffic impacts are available through the Brockville Municipal 511 website.
The city thanked residents for their patience as work continues.
