Brockville-based Canarm, a leading HVAC manufacturer, is making a major investment in its future and in the local economy.
The company, which has been in the city for over 80 years, is expanding its current building.
President Jim Cooper shared the good news.
Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes praised the companies ability to succeed consistently and said that they will hopefully be able to use the new facility early next year.
Cooper says the move is part of a plan to grow Canarm’s footprint in the industry.
The expansion is expected to nearly double the company’s business and Cooper said that it could possibly add another 50 to 60 jobs in Brockville.
Cooper says a recent U.S. acquisition in the blower manufacturing sector helped make the step possible.
Officials call it a win for both Canarm and the region.
