The counties said food donations are now being accepted following a recent health inspection
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville provided an update Tuesday on operations at its warming centre in Brockville, highlighting steady overnight use and ongoing volunteer needs this winter season.
The centre, located at 166 Pearl Street East, welcomes an average of nine to 17 guests each night. Some visitors stay through the night, while others use the space for shorter periods, reflecting continued demand during cold weather.
Each shift is staffed by one security guard and two service providers to maintain safety, offer onsite support and connect guests with services as needed.
The counties said food donations are now being accepted following a recent health inspection. Donations must be pre-packaged items or prepared food from a health-inspected kitchen with proof of inspection.
Volunteers are required to complete registration, screening interviews and a current vulnerable sector check before being approved.
Clothing and blanket donations should be directed to the Salvation Army through its voucher partnership.
