“This just shows the great community we live in,” the restaurant said on social media
The spirit of community in downtown Brockville was on full display earlier this week, as local residents and businesses helped 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria reopen.
The restaurant had to close temporarily after its pizza oven broke down, leaving loyal customers without their favourite pies over the weekend. Neighbours and fellow business owners stepped in to help. Nick from Luna Pizzeria connected the restaurant with repair contacts, while Dan Towell of Upper Canada HVAC Systems Ltd. came Friday evening to assess and repair the oven.
By Tuesday, the pizzeria was back in business, serving pizzas to customers who had patiently waited. The restaurant thanked everyone for their support and praised the quick efforts of local helpers.
“This just shows the great community we live in,” the restaurant said on social media, highlighting how collaboration in Brockville can bring people together in times of need.
