The Brockville is accepting applications for two funding programs that support community projects, events and cultural initiatives.
City officials say the programs are aimed at strengthening local organizations and helping new ideas grow across the community.
The Brockville Legacy Fund is offering about $9,000 this year for recreational and cultural capital projects. Applications are open until April 24 at 4 p.m. A committee made up of two city councillors and the two most recent Citizens of the Year will review submissions and decide which projects qualify.
The fund was created in 2009 with $200,000 placed under the management of the Brockville Community Foundation, with annual earnings distributed to local groups.
Meanwhile, the city is also accepting applications for its Festivals and Events Grant Program until April 8.
Officials say the program supports tourism, creativity and community connections through local events and initiatives.
