The City of Brockville is warning residents about construction expected to affect traffic on Highway 401 and nearby roads beginning immediately.
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is leading the project, with work carried out by contractor Bellai Alliance Civil Inc. The project includes rehabilitation of overpasses at Stewart Boulevard and North Augusta Road, along with paving on ramps and nearby streets such as Parkedale Avenue.
Officials say motorists should expect nightly lane and ramp closures on both eastbound and westbound Highway 401. Lane restrictions will also be in place on Stewart Boulevard, North Augusta Road and Parkedale Avenue.
At least one access point to Highway 401 will remain open at all times, though temporary steel plates will be installed on overpasses during construction.
