Residents in Brockville are being reminded to plan ahead as most businesses close or reduce hours for the holiday season.
Many retailers and services will shut their doors on Christmas Day, with limited hours on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Grocery stores including Metro, Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart and Food Basics will all be closed Christmas Day, with shortened hours on surrounding days.
Liquor purchases will also require planning. Both Brockville locations of the LCBO and The Beer Store will be closed Christmas Day, with reduced hours on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Many convenience stores carry beer, wine, and pre-mixed drinks.
Municipal services are also affected. Brockville City Hall and the Brockville Public Library will close on Christmas and Boxing Day.
Garbage collection will run as scheduled on Christmas Eve, with Thursday pickups moved to Saturday.
