How Brockville handles massive snow removal as winter storms keep coming

The city is urging residents to drive and walk carefully, keep bins off the roads, avoid pushing snow onto streets, clear fire hydrants and follow winter parking rules

Heavy snowfall continues to keep snow removal crews busy in Brockville.

The city budgets each year for snow clearing, knowing large snowfalls bring added costs and pressure on operations.

Phil Wood, Brockville’s director of operations, spoke about how this winter compares to last year.

Wood says when snowfall piles up, the city organizes large-scale removals to clear downtown streets and other priority areas.

In addition, municipal crews often handle smaller scale snow removal themselves, which does not require additional budget dollars.

Wood thanked residents for their patience as demand remains high.
