Officials say Sparkes’s leadership marks a new chapter for Leeds & Grenville Interval House
Leeds & Grenville Interval House has announced the appointment of Katie Sparkes as its new Executive Director, effective March 16. Sparkes brings more than 18 years of leadership experience in the violence against women sector, including nearly two decades at Nipissing Transition House and her current role as Operations Manager at LGIH.
The organization described Sparkes as a steady, trauma-informed leader with expertise in shelter operations, crisis response, labour-management collaboration, and Ministry-funded program oversight. The Board of Directors expressed enthusiasm for her appointment and confidence in her ability to guide the organization’s mission moving forward.
Interval House also thanked outgoing Executive Director Melissa Leveck for her three years of service, noting her leadership strengthened the organization and supported its goals with vision and dedication.
Officials say Sparkes’s leadership marks a new chapter for Leeds & Grenville Interval House as it continues to provide critical support and safe spaces for women and children affected by domestic violence.
