Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre will face a mandatory leadership review this month after the party failed to form government in the recent federal election.
The vote is scheduled for Calgary. After losing his Ottawa-area seat in Carleton in April, Poilievre won a federal byelection in Alberta’s Battle River-Crowfoot riding in August.
Local MP Michael Barrett for LGTIRL continues to support Poilievre.
He believes Poilievre deserves support similar to what former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper received years ago.
Under Poilievre, the Conservatives had once appeared poised for a historic majority, but national events, including U.S. trade tensions, shifted the party’s fortunes.
