Municipal leaders unite to tackle winter roads and infrastructure challenges in Leeds and Grenville

The county plans to continue fostering partnerships with local municipalities to better serve the communities across Leeds and Grenville

United Counties of Leeds and Grenville officials joined leaders from local municipalities last week to strengthen collaboration on public works and infrastructure. The meeting focused on addressing this season’s winter road challenges, planning for upcoming summer maintenance and construction, and preparing for potential changes in provincial legislation that could affect future infrastructure projects.

Municipal representatives from the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley, Municipality of North Grenville, Village of Merrickville-Wolford, Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, Township of Athens, Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Augusta Township, and Township of Rideau Lakes participated in the discussions.

County officials said the meeting highlights the importance of teamwork to ensure residents continue to receive safe, reliable, and resilient services. By sharing knowledge and coordinating efforts across municipalities, the United Counties aim to improve efficiency in road maintenance and infrastructure planning.
