Many others suffered minor injuries, with some of them also going to hospital
A major Highway 401 eastbound closure is impacting traffic in Leeds and Grenville following a multi-vehicle collision near Lansdowne. Police report significant traffic delays between Lansdowne and Mallorytown.
The OPP's Bill Dickson says one child was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Other outlets suggested an air ambulance (ORNGE) had been dispatched, but Dickson says the OPP had no knowledge of that.
The cleanup on this section of the 401 will take a significant amount of time, he adds.
Officials recommend avoiding unnecessary travel and using emergency detour routes while cleanup continues.
