A retired officer with the Ontario Provincial Police is continuing his fight against bullying across Eastern Ontario.
Craig McCormick recently wrapped up the fifth annual February awareness campaign tied to his “Take a Stand Lend a Hand” initiative, a program that encourages young people and communities to stand up for those facing bullying.
He explained what the campaign is about.
The month-long effort ended with a walk on Pink Shirt Day, when McCormick joined more than 150 students to raise awareness and promote kindness in schools.
McCormick reflected on what the turnout meant to him.
The retired officer is now preparing for the 2026 paddle season. He plans to attend several water-related events across the region to continue spreading the anti-bullying message.
Despite the busy schedule, McCormick says the work is extremely rewarding.
