A vehicle crashed into the entrance of the South Brockville ReStore operated by Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands, causing minor damage to the building but leaving everyone unharmed.
According to the organization, no staff, volunteers, or customers were injured in the incident. The store was secured shortly after the crash, and staff began working with local police, insurance providers, and restoration crews to assess the damage and arrange repairs. As a result, the South location was temporarily closed.
Officials expressed gratitude that no one was hurt and thanked community members for their concern, patience, and ongoing support during the unexpected disruption. The North Brockville ReStore location remained open and fully operational.
In an update, the organization announced that the South Store has officially reopened. While full repairs are still underway and occasional temporary closures of the front area may be required, customers are once again able to shop at the location.
The group also noted that its 19,000-square-foot main building was unaffected by the crash and remained open throughout.
The ReStore sells donated furniture, appliances, and building materials, with proceeds supporting local housing initiatives through Habitat for Humanity. Further updates will be shared as repairs continue.
