Brace yourself for another burst of bad weather
A Special Weather Statement is in effect for Brockville and Prescott as a potent spring ice storm is expected from late tomorrow (Friday) through Monday.
Ice buildup of 5 to 15 mm is likely, with some areas possibly seeing more than 20 mm. Snow and ice pellets may accumulate up to 15 cm, leading to slippery roads, broken tree branches, and possible power outages.
The worst conditions are expected to affect areas from Sault Ste. Marie southeast to Kingston. A brief break in freezing rain is expected Saturday night before a second round begins.
Residents are advised to prepare for hazardous conditions and possible disruptions, including utility outages.
Warnings will be issued as the event draws nearer, and it’s important to stay updated on weather reports throughout the weekend.
