On Thursday morning, the United Way Leeds and Grenville held its Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at the Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club just outside of Brockville.
The event brought together residents to recognize volunteers and their contributions to the region.
Executive Director Hailie Jack spoke about the importance of volunteering.
Jack also noted the organization marked the occasion by presenting several cheques to local groups that supported United Way over the past year.
Awards were handed out to organizations and community members for their long-standing support.
A special honour, the Gord Brown Memorial Award, went to local radio figure Bruce Wylie, who said it feels very special.
