Volunteers urged to act now as Earth Day cleanup returns to Mac Johnson Wildlife Area

Participants will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Centennial Road entrance to help prepare the popular natural area for spring

The Friends of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area are inviting residents to take part in an Earth Day clean-up on Wednesday, April 22 in Brockville. Volunteers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Centennial Road entrance to help prepare the popular natural area for spring.

Organizer Gwen Gibson explained why the trails won’t be cleaned this year.

Participants can stay for a short time or spend the full morning helping with the effort.

Gibson shared more about the event.

The clean-up will go ahead rain or shine, and people of all ages are encouraged to take part.

Anyone interested in joining is asked to register by emailing friendsmacjohnson@gmail.com before Sunday, April 19.
