A search also found a social insurance number card in his possession that did not belong to him and was reported stolen in 2019
On April 16 at about 8:30 p.m., police received a 911 call requesting help at a Wall Street address, but the call disconnected. Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old man and his girlfriend involved in a dispute. Investigation showed the argument began after she confronted him about substance use and relationship concerns.
Police say the situation escalated and the man allegedly spat on the woman multiple times, punched her in the abdomen, and struck her with a salt shaker. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
A search also found a social insurance number card in his possession that did not belong to him and was reported stolen in 2019. He was held for a bail hearing and faces charges of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, and possession of an identity document. The investigation remains ongoing and police encourage anyone with information to contact them.
