A testament to the community and the support they receive
On Tuesday night in front of sponsors and volunteers at The Keystorm Pub, the Brockville Winter Classic committee announced this year's event total of $72,500, which then turned into $73,000 thanks to a last minute, $500 donation from the Brockville Kinsmen Club.
With the Rotary Park revitalization project complete, for the second straight year, the total goes towards the growth of local minor hockey and making it more accessible. Winter Classic committee member, Ryan Billing explained how they do that.
Billing had this to say about next year's event.
He said this year's total is a testament to the community and the support they receive.
