Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that a death under investigation in Augusta Township has been ruled a homicide.
Grenville County OPP officers responded to a residence on County Road 26 shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8. Police located one person deceased at the scene.
Investigators have since determined the death was a homicide. Police said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no indication of a broader threat to public safety.
The investigation is being led by the Grenville County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Investigators are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Additional support is being provided by the OPP Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Services and the East Region Community Street Crime Unit.
