Brock Trail closure begins as John Taylor Park upgrades move ahead

The city says the project will transform the area into a welcoming public space celebrating Brockville’s natural and historical features while recognizing Taylor’s contributions to the trail system

Construction on the John Taylor Park Development Project is set to begin today in Brockville.

The City of Brockville says Kehoe Construction has been awarded the contract to complete improvements at the existing park space along the Brock Trail near St. Paul Street.

The project will include new seating areas, landscaping, lighting, trail upgrades, signage, decorative features and a commemorative plaque recognizing longtime Brock Trail advocate and former Brock Trail Committee Chair John Taylor.

A section of the Brock Trail between St. Paul Street and Henry Street will be temporarily closed during construction. Trail users are being asked to follow a detour along Water Street West while work is underway.

The city says the project will transform the area into a welcoming public space celebrating Brockville’s natural and historical features while recognizing Taylor’s contributions to the trail system.
