Brockville and Area Community Living says its labour dispute has now reached its eighth week, but the organization remains hopeful an agreement with its local union can still be reached.

In a public update, Executive Director Sandra Summers said the organization has not been able to continue discussions with its bargaining team since the strike began. She added that Brockville and Area Community Living has been advocating to government officials for increased and sustainable investments in the sector.

The organization said its priority remains maintaining services and supporting the well-being of the people it serves. Contingency plans remain in place and could change if preparations are needed for a longer disruption. It added that operations staff continue working to ensure services meet clients' needs.

Brockville and Area Community Living also thanked employees for their role in people's lives and said it looks forward to them returning.

The organization said it remains committed to mediated discussions and encouraged a resolution as soon as possible for employees and those who rely on its services.
