Brockville council has approved the final group of rental units to be turned into condominiums, completing a mass conversion that started last year. The properties, owned by SIREG Management Inc., include 362 units at Cartier Court, Kensington Parkway, and Balmoral Place.

Council also approved a rezoning at King and Broad Streets to allow five new apartment units without requiring parking. Instead, the developer will pay $32,500 in cash-in-lieu fees.
Another motion approved extra costs for a development charges study, raising the total from $35,000 to $65,000. Mayor Matt Wren called it a smooth process, joking about the vote needing no “strong mayor powers.”
