A two-term councillor in Brockville is entering the city’s mayoral race. Cameron Wales, first elected in 2018 at age 23 and re-elected in 2022, has filed nomination papers for the fall election.
He has served on several committees, including as chair of the governance committee, and previously represented rural municipalities at the provincial level.
Wales identified affordability as a key issue.
He also highlighted the importance of maintaining a sustainable tax levy for residents.
He added that addressing a $9 million capital infrastructure gap will be another priority.
