Brockville’s crossing guard community is celebrating after Debbie Bugden was named the 2025–2026 Crossing Guard of the Year, recognized during Crossing Guard Appreciation Week.
She has served as a crossing guard for more than 20 years at St. John Bosco Catholic School and Vanier Public School in Brockville, helping keep students and families safe each day.
Officials and community partners noted her dedication, reliability and friendly presence, saying she has made a lasting impact on generations of local families.
The City of Brockville and the Ottawa Safety Council in Brockville took part in presenting the award and recognizing her service.
