Wajahat Khaleeque will be honoured at the 67th Awards of Excellence Gala at the Brockville Country Club
The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce has named Wajahat Khaleeque as its 2026 Business Person of the Year. The award will be presented during the 67th Awards of Excellence Gala at the Brockville Country Club.
Khaleeque has grown Sunset Grill into a popular Brockville restaurant over the past six years before expanding with the opening of Mary Brown's Chicken. He has also announced plans to open a third business in the city, continuing his investment in the local economy.
The Chamber said Khaleeque is recognized for his people-first leadership, commitment to employees and dedication to exceptional customer service.
Beyond business, he supports many local charities and organizations, including the Brockville and Area Food Bank, Loaves and Fishes, the Salvation Army, the Canadian Cancer Society, BHRR Animal Rescue and local schools and sports organizations.
Khaleeque also volunteers with the Chamber's board, Programming Committee and Brockville Buzz Squad. Additional Awards of Excellence recipients will be announced during the gala.
