The Brockville and Area Food Bank has already distributed more than 1,000 pounds of food collected during the recent All Hands on Deck Food Drive.

The fundraiser, organized by myFM and Giant FM, raised more than $25,000 and collected about 2,000 pounds of food for the local food bank.

Food bank manager Amanda Petch thanked the community for its support.

Petch said the food bank expects to distribute the remaining food before the end of September.

The food bank also saw 42 new people sign up for assistance in August and recorded more than 2,200 visits during the month, highlighting the heavy demand.

To help with that demand, Petch said the food bank is also seeking a volunteer driver.
