The fundraiser’s results highlight the continued community support for local food security initiatives in Brockville and the surrounding area
A Brockville food drive has raised $25,000 for the Brockville and Area Food Bank, surpassing last year’s total.
The All Hands On Deck Food Drive was held Thursday at the Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills, presented by The Brick Brockville. Organizers say the community response made the event a major success.
The drive raised $24,760 in cash, along with 2,355 pounds of food for the local food bank.
The Armagh L. Sifton Charitable Foundation then stepped in with an additional donation, bringing the fundraiser’s grand total to an even $25,000.
The food and cash donations will help support the Brockville and Area Food Bank as it continues providing assistance to local families in need.
Organizers thanked everyone who contributed to the drive, including shoppers who made donations and the foundation for helping push the final total higher.
