Two Upper Canada District School Board schools are celebrating big wins after strong performances at the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association curling championship in Brockville.
The event took place Feb. 24 to 26 at the Brockville Country Club, bringing top high school teams from across the region to the city.
The Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute mixed team captured gold with a 7-6 extra-end win over l’école secondaire publique L’Héritage. The team went undefeated in round robin play. Members are Ella MacKinnon, Mathias Boisvert, Madison Parisien and Rafael MacKinnon.
The North Dundas District High School men’s team earned bronze with a 10-9 extra-end victory over Madawaska Valley District High School. Team members are Ethan De Jong, Alex Biemond, Jeremy Ball and Titus Karpowich.
