Sean ‘Howie’ Howison didn’t think twice when he heard his neighbour in distress in the early hours of April 1.
He quickly called 911, ensuring emergency responders arrived in time to help.
On Tuesday, the Brockville Police Service recognized Howison’s quick actions by awarding him a challenge coin, a token of appreciation for his community spirit.
A familiar face at local rinks and hockey games, Howison is well-known in Brockville. His fast thinking and willingness to help highlight the strong sense of community in the city.
“Howie’s actions made a real difference,” police said in a statement.
Howison was celebrated for his kindness and quick response.
