Brockville park project moves closer to completion

The city hopes the project will be completed by the end of the month

Work on the Brockville park project honouring longtime Brock Trail advocate John Taylor is moving ahead as planned.

The downtown site beside St. Paul Street and the historic Buell’s Creek sluiceway is being transformed into a new public space.

City communication coordinator Natalie Finucan says construction is going well so far.

In a facebook video posted by the Cities Facebook. A worker with Kehoe Construction, the company handling the project, says the landscaping is complete, with the remaining work including installation of a guard rail and the commemorative figures.

The project includes a new seating area overlooking the stone sluiceway, Brock Trail upgrades, improved access to the gorge, decorative steel fencing and a family silhouette installation.

Finucan says the city hopes the project will be completed by the end of the month.

A commemorative plaque for Taylor will also be installed as part of the project.
