Brockville police gave young people from across Eastern Ontario a closer look at policing during a special demonstration day.
The Brockville Police Service hosted its Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) Demonstration Day on Aug. 17, bringing together students from Cornwall, Gananoque and Smiths Falls police services, as well as the Ontario Provincial Police.
The students took part in a day focused on learning, teamwork and career opportunities in policing.
They heard from several police specialty units and learned about different roles within the profession. They also participated in basic use-of-force training and had the chance to meet other YIPI students from across the region.
Brockville police thanked the participating police services and specialty units for helping make the event possible.
