Donated by the Ontario RCMP
The Brockville Police now have a new boat that allows them quick and easy access to the St. Lawrence River.
Jeff Wiwchar from the Brockville Police has more.
Their previous boat was taken out of service a couple of years ago due to unexpected mechanical problems, leaving officers without a vital tool for water-based operations.
Wiwchar explains how they were able to acquire this much-needed vessel.
The boat was donated complete with all its assets, easing the pressure on the police budget entirely.
Marine vessels can be costly, so the donation provided both a financial and operational boost.
Police say the new boat strengthens their ability to respond quickly to emergencies, patrol the waterways, and keep the St. Lawrence River safe.
