Residents are being urged to take part and help bring recognition and funding to Brockville
Brockville is encouraging residents to get active throughout June as part of the ParticipACTION Community Challenge.
Developmental Services of Leeds and Grenville says every minute of movement will help the city compete to become Canada’s Most Active Community.
The national program runs through June and invites people of all ages to take part in activities such as walking, gardening, sports, housework and other forms of exercise.
Communities across the country are competing for a grand prize of 100,000 dollars for local sports and wellness initiatives. Participants are asked to sign up online, stay active during the month and log their minutes of movement.
Organizers say every step and activity counts toward the final tally. The initiative aims to boost physical activity and community engagement.
Residents are being urged to take part and help bring recognition and funding to Brockville.
