Market Street West and Water Street West will close from 11 a.m. to noon, while Blockhouse Island Parkway will close for the day
The City of Brockville says residents and visitors should prepare for closures, service interruptions and road restrictions as Canada Day celebrations take place on Wednesday, July 1.
The city will mark the holiday with a parade, ceremony, live entertainment and a fireworks display. The parade begins at 11:45 a.m. at City Hall and heads to Hardy Park, where a ceremony and a performance of O Canada by local musician Oliver Filion will follow.
Live music, food, drinks and family activities will run at Hardy Park from noon to 4 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:45 p.m. at Blockhouse Island.
Municipal offices, transit, waste collection, the Brockville Arts Centre and the Brockville Public Library will be closed for the day. Waste pickup will shift one day later for the rest of the week.
