For upgrades to the Brockville Memorial Centre and YMCA
More than $1.2 million in funding is coming to Brockville to support important upgrades to local recreation facilities.
On behalf of Ontario’s Minister of Sport, the Hon. Neil Lumsden, MPP Steve Clark made two major funding announcements through the province’s Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.
The City of Brockville will receive $978,831 to replace the aging roof at the Brockville Memorial Civic Centre. The facility is home to a variety of recreational programs for families, youth, and seniors. Clark said maintaining safe, reliable spaces like the Civic Centre helps promote health and quality of life.
The YMCA of Eastern Ontario is also receiving $222,202 to renovate its changerooms and improve accessibility for all users.
Clark said the YMCA has played a vital role in building a stronger, more inclusive community for generations.
