The third annual Belles and Ladders Girls Firefighters Camp in Brockville gave young women a chance to experience what it takes to become a firefighter.
The three-day program, hosted by the Brockville Fire Department, wrapped up Friday, with girls between the ages of 15 and 18 taking part in hands-on training, including putting out live fires, cutting apart vehicles, practising forcible entry and more.
Jordan took part in the three-day camp and shared her experience.
Abigail also participated and said she was surprised by how much she enjoyed the experience.
Alexis said the experience gave her the chance to do things young girls don’t normally get to try.
Mya shared some of the parts of the program she enjoyed most.
