The John Howard Society will celebrate the opening of its Pathways Supportive Cabins Initiative on Thursday (Nov. 13), with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1805 County Road 2 East. The event marks a key step in homelessness reduction efforts funded through the Homelessness Reduction Initiative.
Local and provincial officials will speak, including MPs Michael Barrett and Steve Clark, Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke, City Councillor Katherine Hobbs, and United Counties Director of Community and Social Services Shanna Culhane. John Howard Society Assistant Director Robyn Holmes and a current resident will also address attendees.
The outdoor ceremony will be followed by a tour of the new cabins. Guests are advised to dress in business attire suitable for outdoor conditions and wear appropriate footwear. Parking is available at the nearby Water Treatment Plant, with staff on-site to assist.
