The Brockville Winter Classic is expanding its hockey subsidy programs for a third season, aiming to help more local children take part in the sport.
The initiative began with financial support for U7 programs at the Brockville Minor Hockey Association and Brockville Girls Hockey Association. Organizers say the funding has helped increase participation, leading to more children playing hockey and additional ice time.
Last season, the Winter Classic partnered with Their Opportunity to launch the BWC Plays It Forward Program. The initiative provides financial assistance toward hockey registration fees for families facing financial barriers.
Organizers say the program is expanding this season, with more participants eligible for support and increased funding available for each subsidy.
Families who may need help paying for hockey are encouraged to learn more and apply.
