police responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on April 26
A 27-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a car crash on Parkedale Avenue in Brockville Saturday evening.
At around 7:30 p.m. on April 26, police responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. Officers arrived to find a vehicle that had veered off the road and struck a hydro pole.
Police say the man behind the wheel had been drinking. A roadside breath test was performed, which registered a fail. He was arrested and brought to the Brockville Police Service for further testing.
Tests confirmed the driver was impaired by alcohol. As a result, his driver's licence was suspended, his vehicle was impounded, and he was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
No injuries were reported.
